The Daun holiday park was opened in 1977 and celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2017. A total of 143 bungalows, apartments and studios were built for home ownership at the Daun holiday park in accordance with the Act on Residential Apartment Ownership (WEG). In addition, Ferienpark Daun GmbH & Co. KG Vulkaneifel established a service centre, in the form of a bungalow and apartment hotel, as a central supply and management office for the operations of the entire holiday park.

Apartment owners rent their apartment units to the management company, Ferienpark Daun GmbH & Co. KG Vulkaneifel, for the purposes of hotel-like use of the entire holiday park. The owners of the bungalows, apartments and studios have a stake in the management company as a result of acquiring limited partner shares in an amount that is proportional to their interest in the homeowners' association. This means that all results achieved by Ferienpark Daun's management activities are due to the property owner/limited partner. This structure of a commercial limited partnership with respect to the bungalows, apartments and studios made it possible to obtain investment allowances and capital investment bonuses for the entire complex at the time of construction.

Each apartment owner has the right to 30 days' personal use of their apartment unit (see provision on personal use).
